CHERIE DUCOTE-BREAUX
I have been making jewelry since about 2002. I have a nickel allergy so I was very limited on the jewelry I could wear. I found a pair of hypoallergenic earrings and I needed a necklace to match, but I couldn’t find one. So I decided to make one and I was hooked! I’m a past president of the Baton Rouge Bead Society; which is now disbanded. I’ve taken classes on-line, at the local bead store, Youtube, books and by trial and error. I make paper beads and jewelry out of those beads. I make nail polish jewelry and I also teach classes on both as well as basic jewelry making classes. I do stringing, wire wrapping, needlework, etc. I like working with glass beads, pearls, paper, vintage beads, seed beads, etc. I like to keep learning and sharing my knowledge. I also like to crochet, cross stitch. I’ve been a resident of Denham Springs since 1986. I’m also on the Board of Directors for the Arts Council of Livingston Parish.
